The Spiny Oyster gemstone is a colourful shell that comes from the oyster species "Spondylus various"
The colour of these stones is a beautiful pale yellow-purple which is unlike any I've seen before. Spiny Oyster most commonly comes in orange, red, and purple. Although very rare it can be found in a yellow hue too.
This necklace measures 17.5" in total. It has been oxidised and polished to enhance the details. The reverse is marked 925 for sterling silver and also shows my makers mark - a dragonfly.
